Generations Church Pantry is a social supermarket, run by Generations Church Grimsby.

What it the Pantry?

Dignified access to affordable food for all

In 2023 we converted our existing food bank into The Pantry in response to the increase in demand for our food bank and the need to provide a more dignified access to food for those who are struggling with the current financial crisis.

Membership scheme.: A free membership scheme that welcomes everyone.
£4 per visit.: Members can shop the pantry for just a £4 donation per visit.
Points system.: Each visit includes up to 15 points worth of food, letting members choose what suits them best.

Key Information

With many struggling to afford food, we’re stepping in - offering fresh, affordable groceries and sharing Jesus’ love with every member.

Who is it for?: The pantry is for anyone who is struggling with the cost of living. No evidence needed. The pantry is available to anyone who needs it.
Where is the pantry?: Generations Church Grimsby, Wingate Road on the Willows estate.
When are you open?: Every Thursday from 12:30pm - 2:30pm
Why?: We couldn’t stand by and do nothing so we are playing our part in providing access to fresh and affordable food, whilst also sharing Jesus’ love with members.

Wrap around support

It's about more than just food

But it’s about more than food. We intend to provide members with free wrap-around support and access to courses too.

Budgeting courses.: Budgeting courses through CAP (Christians Against Poverty), helping members take control of their finances with confidence.
Exploring Christianity.: We also offer a course designed to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed and welcoming environment, open to anyone with questions or curiosity.
More to follow.: We’re also looking to offer more helpful courses in the future - such as cooking lessons - to equip and empower our members with everyday skills.
